Project Ember©

You don’t have to be okay to be here.

Project Ember is a 24/7 anonymous, online support platform built by queer people for queer people, offering secure, encrypted group spaces—like virtual therapy rooms—where individuals aged 13 and up can talk openly about addiction, trauma, identity, and mental health without fear of judgment or exposure. Led by licensed professionals or trained peer hosts, the platform is ad-free, non-commercial, and fully accessible across desktop and mobile. With full redundancy across U.S. East and West Azure regions, Ember never goes down—and if someone is in crisis, they’re instantly connected to online suicide prevent groups through a dedicated liaison. It’s not therapy, it’s not social media—it’s the safe space we were never given but always needed.

Why It Matters

A sanctuary built by us, for us.

Therapy is too expensive. Hotlines don’t give you space to unpack what happened. And social media? It’s performative, chaotic, and unsafe for people just trying to survive. For LGBTQIA+ individuals—especially youth, addicts, trauma survivors, and those who’ve been rejected by family or faith—there’s often no place to just talk. No place to be messy, to cry, to say things like “I relapsed” or “I don’t want to be alive today” without fear or shame. We built Ember because nobody else did.

This isn’t about replacing therapy or emergency services. It’s about the space between. The hours after your dad calls you a slur. The morning after you used again. The moment you realize you don’t feel safe in your own body. That’s where Ember lives. It’s the room we all needed but could never find—until now.

Who It’s For

If you’ve ever felt alone—this is for you.

Project Ember is for queer and trans people aged 13 and up who need somewhere real to go. For the kid crying in the bathroom between classes. For the adult sitting in a rehab bed wondering if they’ll be accepted when they get out. For the person who isn’t suicidal tonight, but doesn’t want to be alone with their thoughts either. You don’t need a diagnosis. You don’t need a label. You don’t even need to speak if you’re not ready. You just need to show up.

Whether you’re navigating trauma, identity, addiction, grief, or silence—Ember is here. There’s no pressure to be “fixed,” no forced positivity, no content moderation that silences truth. If you need to scream, cry, vent, or just listen in, you’re welcome. This is not a service. It’s a space—and it belongs to you.

How We're Built

Private. Redundant. Designed to never go dark.

Ember is hosted on Microsoft Azure with full redundancy across U.S. East and West, meaning it operates 24/7/365—even in disasters, blackouts, or crises. You will never be met with a "site unavailable" screen. We built it like your life might depend on it—because for some people, it might. Every room is encrypted. No data is stored, no audio is recorded, and nothing is harvested or sold. Ever.

There are no ads. No follower counts. No social feeds. This is not a place to perform—it’s a place to feel. Every line of code, every security policy, every uptime promise was written with one goal in mind: to protect the people inside. If you’re here, you're safe. And we will never, ever let the lights go out.
